Leadership Team

Rev. Dr. Jonathan B. Hall

senior pastor

If you’re like me, I tend to look at these parts of church websites to see if I’m welcome. Oftentimes, I’m met with member prerequisites and language of exclusion well before I can find where (and if) I belong. You won’t find that here—or anywhere in Jesus’s ministry. Instead, you’ll discover a community of believers bonded by the call to be Disciples in many different ways. You’ll find a church that feels like home because it reflects the rich tapestry of our city. You’ll be part of a congregation of students, where the pastors and elders are learning alongside you (and from you).

I wasn’t seeking a church to serve when I was offered this position at First Christian Church of North Hollywood. At the time, I was serving a congregation in Colorado. After some initial hesitation and self-doubt, I heard God’s call to lead a community that doesn’t build walls around faith, but seeks to extend Jesus’s table. My greatest hope is that the sermon never ends and we continue to follow Jesus with renewed excitement and hope. I invite you to join us as we embark on this exploration of faith and discipleship together. At FCCNH, we start with belonging and go from there.

Behind the pulpit

I’m the second-best parent in my house, yet I co-authored a book entitled Dear Son: Raising Faithful, Just and Compassionate Men. It is available through any bookstore.

My wife, Annie, and I have two young boys, Malachi and Zion. Our best moments occur when we’re camping together.

I have served two congregations: One in Ventura, California, and the other in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

I grew up in Huntsville, Alabama, so I have an affinity for fried food.

I have been interviewed by local, national, and international news agencies to discuss the intersection between faith and public life.

I enjoy playing pickleball and competing in triathlons.

Jennifer has served the children of FCCNH since 2016. She has a degree in Theater and Dance from the University of Iowa. In addition to serving our children, Jennifer is also involved in leading musical theater camps in the Burbank schools.
Jennifer is married to Ne’e and they are parents of Cole and Bird.
