Community Outreach

first christian church of north hollywood

Jesus said some beautiful things.
One of them was that we would do even greater things than He did (John 14:12).

Some of the great things we do include...

Human Needs

We could do ministry alone, but we are called to reach out to our neighbors and build community as we seek to welcome all to the table.

For two decades, our Human Needs Ministry has been a beacon of compassion, serving up home-cooked lunches every second Sunday of the month at North Hollywood Park. Our mission is simple yet profound: to foster connections with our unhoused neighbors while offering a homemade meal to anyone in need. In addition to satisfying hunger, we provide clothing and blankets to those seeking warmth and comfort.
As Thanksgiving approaches, our efforts double. In November, we extend our outreach by hosting lunch twice: on the second Sunday and either the third Saturday or Sunday before Thanksgiving. Our Thanksgiving dinner is a true labor of love—a feast that would make your Grandma proud!
Join us in spreading kindness and nourishing bodies and souls. Your presence and support make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

If you are interested in volunteering by preparing food or helping to serve, please contact Deb Luster: (323) 854-6707.

North Hollywood interfaith food pantry

We believe that no one should go hungry.

Since our inception in 1983, we have sought to welcome all people who may need food assistance. We value each one who comes and we invite clients to return to the Pantry as often as they may need.

We believe in the essential dignity of each person - clients and volunteers.

We welcome the participation of anyone who would like to serve their community. And we encourage youth and young adults to work with us, cultivate compassionate action, and educate others about hunger in our community.

We partner with other organizations in our network for added support.

So that may provide additional forms of assistance, including information about housing, health care, and services for those experiencing homelessness.

Trees for Kids

Rather than keeping the profits from our Christmas tree sales, we choose to donate proceeds to our ministry partners, who are dedicated to caring for children both in our community and beyond. Here are some of the charities and programs we’ve supported:
